Silverburn’s Flamingo Beach makes a splash with £50,000 raised for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity

Silverburn’s popular Flamingo Beach has wrapped up its fourth successful summer, raising £50,000 for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, and bringing the total raised by the mall in the last four years to £187,887.
Flamingo Beach has become a well-loved fixture in Silverburn’s summer calendar since launching in 2023, and this year welcomed 21,000 visitors, offering families a slice of seaside in Glasgow.
Whatever the Scottish weather brought over its nine-week run, kids enjoyed playing in the sand and building sandcastles, while families got a chance to relax on the sun loungers.
Guests also showed their support by purchasing merchandise from Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity’s pop-up stand, with proceeds going straight to the cause which supports young patients and their families.
Diarmuid Donohoe, General Manager of Silverburn, said: “We continue to be blown away by the popularity of the beach and the generosity of our guests. Putting on events like Flamingo Beach is what Silverburn’s all about, creating entertaining and accessible experiences for the whole family to enjoy. It’s always a pleasure to see the enjoyment it brings and the impact it makes for such a brilliant and important charity.”
William McGowan, Head of Partnerships & Business Development at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, added: “Once again, the generosity of the guests at Flamingo Beach has been outstanding. As our charity celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, we are reflecting on the incredible support that has enabled us to invest more than £53 million in projects that enhance the lives of babies, children and families treated at Scotland’s largest children’s hospital. Achievements like this are only possible thanks to the dedication of valued partners such as Silverburn, and we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone for making Flamingo Beach such a success again this year.”
