Things to do with kids in Glasgow this Easter

Reading time 3 mins

Looking for things to do with the kids this Easter? You’re in luck – we’ve got some great activities lined up at Silverburn this spring.

Visit Bernie the Easter Bunny

Our favourite Easter visitor is back – Bernie the Easter Bunny has settled into his Easter garden near Sunglass Hut and is ready to say hello! He’s ready for a visit all through the Easter holidays. Don’t forget to stop and take a selfie!

Head to the Silverburn Carnival

The brand new Silverburn Carnival will be opening its doors on 29th March. No matter if the kids are looking for a thrill on the Freak Out or prefer to play in the inflatable play area, you can enjoy a day out with the whole family.

Keep your ticket to show at retailers including Batch’d and Chopstix for a carnival-exclusive discount. For more information including how to book your tickets, read more here.

Spend the day at a soft play

If you need to stay out of the rain, head to Fun Street soft play for more indoor fun. Suitable for children up to the age of 12, Fun Street is packed full of activities to keep the whole family amused for hours. Featuring a soft play, toddler play for the little ones, a climbing wall, puppet shows and a virtual iZone, Fun Street is a creative and exciting place for kids of all ages.

For little ones who love stories and adventure, the Superheroes vs Princesses Easter event shouldn’t be missed. Meet Spiderman, Iron Man, Rapunzel, Elsa, and the Easter Bunny on 29th, 30th and 31st of March at Fun Street. Your little one can enjoy a princess makeover complete with glitter tattoos, or show off their strength by lifting Thor’s hammer to win a prize. Book your tickets here and come along to be in with a chance to win a family ticket to The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction in Windermere.

And don’t miss out on the exciting Ocean Adventures soft play, located outside Marks & Spencer. The free soft play features a crawl-through submarine, whale hump slide, and built-in activity panels so you can continue the beach fun no matter the weather.

Check out what’s on the big screen

Cineworld has everything to keep the kids entertained over the school holidays. Kung Fu Panda 4 is the perfect family-friendly cartoon that everyone will love, while the older kids will love Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. And the re-issue of 2021’s Luca will get you ready for the summer with its mediterranean setting.

Don’t miss out on Cineworld’s new family ticket, where one adult and one child under the age of 14 can both pay kids’ prices so you can enjoy more films for less.

Activities on a budget

If you’re looking for free things to do in Glasgow with kids, pay a visit to Pollok Park. Spending time in the fresh air is a great choice, and the beautiful green space is right on our doorstep. Wrap up warm, chuck on a pair of wellies and enjoy the great Scottish weather!

For a little bit of culture (or to avoid the rain!), you can visit the Burrell Collection, a museum full of interactive exhibits and sculptures. Once you’ve exhausted the kids and are all cultured-out, pop along to Silverburn to grab some much-needed refreshments.

Easter arts and crafts

If the weather doesn’t brighten up, set up an arts and craft station at home. Head to The Works to pick up everything you need for every Easter craft, from bonnet making to egg painting and everything in between.

If you’d prefer an Easter lunch or dinner, pick up dainty floral tablecloths, Easter cake stands, and cupcake toppers and cases. Rope in the kids to help you bake cupcakes or other sweet treats, and they’ll be kept busy for hours!

Grab a bite to eat

Silverburn has plenty of family-friendly dining options. Head to Fridays to get that Friday feeling any day of the week, transport yourself to Italy with a fresh pizza from Zizzi, or indulge in a mountain of ice cream, waffles and crepes at Heavenly Desserts
